Police raided Medical shop in Maur Mandi : War against Drugs

In a war against drugs, Punjab police started raiding Medical stores to check the sale of banned drugs, which are being used by addicts as drug alternatives. Bathinda police raided medical shops in Maur Mandi area and have seized drugs without any bill, which is an illegal practice.

Rachpal Singh a senior police officer involved in the raid , who is posted as SHO in the area, told the media person that they will take strict action against the drug peddlers. He also confirmed that they are recovers many drugs without proper bill or any other supporting document.

Shishan Mittal , drug inspector who was also part of the raiding team, told the media that, it is illegal to sell drugs without proper bills.

The previous SAD-BJP government was accused of selling drugs by the opposition and drugs was major issue in the recent Punjab elections of 2017. After joining Congress party senior party leader Navjot singh attacked the then ruling party leaders , specially Bikram singh Majithia, for selling and promoting drug business in the state. Sidhu has given drugs as the main reason for which he joined Congress , because he felt, SAD was ruining Punjab.

Not only Congress, AAP top leaders , including Arvind Kejriwal , keep the drug issue live , by repeatedly attacking Bikram majithia and other top SAD leaders. Kejriwal reached the limit by openly accusing Akali’s of using drug money for elections.

Ruling Congress party in its election manifesto has promised to eliminate drugs from Punjab within in four weeks, and the police actions in Bathinda, is sending few positive signals for all Punjabi’s.
