
Old Man killed by stray dogs in Gurdaspur Punjab
Stray dogs have once again struck in Punjab, this time the victim was from the village Slopur, in Gurdaspur. Eighty years old Jagat singh , who is a farmer was killed by stray dogs ,when he went out into the his fields for some work.
His family members got worried when didn’t returned his home late in the evening. His family members started searching for him and were shocked to found his body , which was in very bad shape. A group of dogs was found eating his body, and villager were able to recover his body after shoeing away the dogs from the fields.
Stray dogs have been attacking humans for many years, but in the recent years, number of such cases have increased drastically. Kulwinder Singh , son of the victim Jagat singh told the media persons that his father was killed by stray dogs. He said there have been many such cases in their area and surrounding village but no action was taken by the government.
He said in Tarntarn district many kids have been killed by stray dogs. He requested the administration to take stringent action, so that such things may not happen in nears future. He said all the dogs should be eliminated by the government.
Another local villager Daljit Singh told the media person that this not first incident, earlier small kid from the village was attacked by the same herd of dogs but was saved by the villagers.
He said timely action by the villagers saved the life of kid , other wise he might have died very brutal death by the stray dogs. Quoting another incident, he said dogs attacked that diary animals as well.
Local people are protesting against the inaction of the administration. They said government should help them get out of this situation at the earliest.
