Protesting EGS teacher burnt in Bathinda Punjab
Protesting EGS teacher burnt in Bathinda Punjab, when he came in contact with effigy of Punjab government being burnt as a protest there. EGS teachers have been demanding permanent jobs for themselves for the last few months. In series of programs planned to register their protest, teacher unions have been blocking highways and even entering political rallies of the ruling party leaders. This time they were protesting in Bathinda, when one of the the teachers who came with petrol sprinkled all over his body came near the burning effigy.
Fauji Chownk at Bathinda witnessed the whole episode of protesting EGS teachers. Effected teacher tried to self emulate to register his protest, as per the eyewitness, but as per other sources , he caught fire accidentally only. Samarjit Singh Samra, is the name of the teacher who suffered burns on arms, head and face. As per doctors Samarjit suffered around 40% body burns in this incident, and he was referred to Faridkot because of his serious health.
EGS teachers held protest at Bathina bridge last Monday, there also around four teachers tried to self emulate but all were saved. The news of EGS teacher tried to suicide was viral on social media, and it is really hard time for ruling government, as these scenes are quite common in the days of elections, when everyone tries to build pressure on ruling party.
