

Nine out of ten times, people who see her would call her Preeti Sabarwal. And, in all possibility, the silky skinned actress would charmingly smile back without telling them that she is Sagarika Ghatge.
“I am lucky that I am known by my character I played in Chak De India. It is indeed a nice feeling though I would want to add a few more characters to my kitty,” she says as she is steered through the rust colored fields of Punjab to her the location of shoot of her first Punjabi film.
Dildariyaan is being directed by the Goreyan Nu Daffa Karo famous director, Pankaj Batra and it stars Jassi Gill and Sagarika.
A Punjabi film, and how, the answer is not an announcement. “Pankaj Batra was searching for cast for his movie. I liked my character, script and so I gave a nod for the film.”
Sagarika liked her character and the entire look of the picture.
She calls herself a foodie and she is loving the food in Punjab.
She says, “You will watch me in salwaar kameez in the film.”
We would like to see her speak Punjabi, which she does, fondly! “As an actor I like to prepare myself before the shoot, I took pronunciation lessons, so I am pretty okay with Punjabi now.”
With a co-star like Jassi Gill, fun is all around. Sagarika smiles and says, “Whenever I am driving back and forth for my shoot, every other song that I listen in the car is Jassi’s. So I know he is a famous singer.”
