Water bus resting on Land for the time being
Deputy chief minister of Punjab sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal was popular as Gappi on Social Media for the last few months. Main reason for declaring and taunting him as Gappi, was his statements given from the political stages.
One of the most popular statement was that he will run water bus in the state, which will be running not only land but also on water. He announced that their government in association with central government will make sure that the bridges be lifted up, so that water buses can move easily.
His opponents from other political parties specially AAP’s top leader Bhagwant made fun of his statements. But on 12 December 2016 , this year he fulfilled his promise and actually brought water bus and run it on water.
He along with media took a complete tour of water bus and even updated his Facebook status ,where in he targeted his opponents , and said he do what ever he says.
After successful testing at Harike lake, it was declared that , this water bus will be put to service in from 13 December 2016. But when people started reaching Harike, to ride this special bus, were not able to have a look of the same, forget about the ride.
Tourist from different places of Punjab who reached the spot, told the media person that , they are highly disappointed by the tourism departments arrangements. They said no body is there to guide them ,where to buy ticket or any other information is not available. Some tourist were able to reach the ramp from where bus is suppose to enter water but were disappointed not see the actual bus.
Sandeep Bajwa, General Manager Punjab Tourism has announced on the day of inauguration, that water bus will be available for common man and tourist from very next day, but now there is no one to answar the question , why bus is not available.
Now forget about tourists, actual losses were beard by the farmers in the area. Farming land around 250 acres, was submerged in water , just to run water bus. Farmers alleged that wheat , potato and peas crops were badly damaged by the increased level of water.
Now farmers are asking for compensation for their damages. Additional water entered their fields and destroyed their crops. Harjit singh SDM , Ferozpur told that they were surveying the losses and will compensate the effected farmers.
