BADAL ANNOUNCES TO DE-NOTIFY ACQUISITION OF ENTIRE SYL LAND
The Chief Minister of Punjab, Mr. Parkash Singh Badal has today announced that Punjab Govt. will de-notify the land that had been acquired for the construction of controversial Satluj-Yamuna Canal in the state of Punjab. The land measuring 5376 acres will be given back to the original owners.
Making this momentous declaration on the floor of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha in the afternoon, the Chief Minister, Mr. Prakash Singh Badal has also announced that not even a single drop of water will be permitted to flow out of Punjab as such a kind of decision & action will neither be constitutionally nor legally tenable. In fact, an extremely critical & the dangerous water crisis stares the population in the face. He said that he would rather shed every drop of his blood than permit any drop of Punjab’s river water to flow out in the violation of its rights.
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) & its ally ‘the BJP’ were very fast to hail the Chief Minister’s announcement. With this single stroke, Mr. Badal has struck down the long & thedark legacy of the Congress Govts against the public of Punjab. This decision will move a long way in deleting the grave threats to the survival of the citizens of Punjab.
Every Punjabi will be walking taller after this decision as Mr. Badal’s decision will secure the dignity & the self- esteem as said by the Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal. Mr. Badal’s declaration has come as a climax of a bitter & intense faceoff between the SAD & the opposition party Congress in Punjab Vidhan Sabha. The Chief Minister has declared that he can be prepared to move the high road to safeguard the interests of the people of the state.
