Captain Amarinder new CM of Punjab
Finally it is Congress which is going to rule in Punjab and captain Amarinder Singh who lead Congress party in this elections is going to be new chief minister of Punjab. Addressing the media persons, Amarinder Singh thanked the people of Punjab for electing his party to power.
Captain assured the public of Punjab that he and his party will address all the issues of Punjab. Congress has scored highest seats in these elections by wining 77 seats , which means they have clear majority to form government.
Captain talked about the drug issue, assured action within four weeks as he has promised the same in his election campaign too. This shows that Congress is in not mood of forgetting the issues on which they have got this heavy mandate by the people of Punjab.
It was Captain Amarinder singh’s birthday too, so prime minister congratulated for his win and birthday as well.
On the other had both AAP and SAD-BJP not only accepted their defeat. AAP star campaigner and member parliament Bhagwant updated his facebook status by saying that they accept the people’s mandate and assured that they will keep fighting for the rights of the people of Punjab.
He also assured that they will do their duty as a opposition party in the Vidhan Sabha of Punjab. AAP was quite hopeful of clean sweeping these elections as they did in Delhi in last elections but AAP was able to win only 22 seats, which included two seats of Bains brothers from Ludhiana.
Shrimani Akali Dal which ruled Punjab for 10 years, also accepted their defeat and assured Congress party of full cooperation for development of Punjab. Party’s leader Sukhbir Badal released the press note and gave this information to the media.
Senior Badal and present chief minister of Punjab Sardar Parkash Singh Badal thanked the people of Punjab for their support to the party. He said he is satisfied with the work done by his party in the last ten years. When asked about the reasons why they have lost elections, he said they will form committee of senior leaders to analyse the outcome of elections. SAD was able to win just 18 seats, but said he is satisfied because exit polls were showing just four seats to their party.
AAP’s convener and chief minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal , congratulated the Congress party. He thanked the workers of AAP party and said fight will go on. AAP fought elections for the first time and people have chosen them to sit in opposition.
