Police station set on fire in protest against murder of rapist

Police station in Kotkhai , Shimla , was set on fire by the angry mob, which was protesting the killing or more precisely murder of rape accused. One of the rap accused was murdered in jail , which triggered riot like situation. Mob first attacked the concerned police state and later set it on fire.

Mob started pelting stones on the station staff, which resulted in injuries inflicted to the police force members. Heavy police force was deployed at the police station to bring the situation under control.

Out of these six accused two are from Shimla, two are from Uttrakhan, and the other two are from Nepal. All were drunken , when they took the victim in their car on the pretext of lift. Then took her to the near by jungle and gang raped her.

Police had arrested them under IPC 302 and 376 and were brought to court and to get their remand for further investigation. One of the accused was arrested on 12th of July and other five were arrested on 13th on next day.

Now interestingly the main accused Raju killed his own accomplice Suraj who is co-accused in the gang rape and murder case.
