31 October movie on 1984 anti sikh riots
Film that was held for long time for release by the censor board was finally given green signal after deleting some scenes. Film ‘ 31 October’ is based on anti Sikh riots that erupted after then prime minister of India, Mrs. Indira Gandhi was killed by her own body guards.
Film is written and products Hari Sachdeva and Shiva ji lotan patil is the director of the film. Film had a petition filed against it because there was some political character who is having resemblance with the real life political leader and was shown instigating the mob to against the Sikhs.
Veer Das and Soha ali khan played the main role in the film as a Sikh family which take the heat of the anti Sikh sentiments.
1984 anti Sikh riots are the black dot on the Indian government. As per official figures around 2800 Sikhs were killed by the mob in just 4 days of violence which spread all over India with Delhi being most effected. As per other sources around 10000 Sikhs lost their life and 3000 alone were killed in the national capital of India.
The Central Bureau of Investigation CBI have later found in its investigation that most the congress party leaders were involved in spreading hatred and instigating the mob against the innocent people of Independent India.
