EVM machines helped BJP to win : Congress
After loosing badly in the Chandigarh Municipal Elections, held few days back, Congress party has alleged that EVM machines were tempered by the BJP. BJP was able to win on 20 seats out of total 26 seats in Chandigarh. One seat was won by SAD candidate and one by the independent leader. Congress was not able to save their strong holds and was able to retain only 4 seats.
Allegations were BJP were also made by one independent candidate Malkiat Singh , who alleged that only one vote was casted in his favor at his both number 381, where as he is having 7 sure votes of his family members. He alleged he is having good hold in his area and was expecting around 400 to 500 votes, but just one vote, means something is wrong , somewhere.
Malkeet singh even alleged that BJP supporters were ready with the victory celebrations, one night ahead of the results, as if they knew that will win the elections. He alleged that banners for victory possessions were ready previous night only, which raises the suspicion of EVM being tempered. He requested media to conduct survey at their end , and this will make sure that he would have got more votes, no doubt about this.
Congress leaders and workers registered their protest with election commission and even seized around the UT guest house too, in the evening after results were declared. Pardeep Chabbra senior congress leader alleged that EVM machines were tempered. He said results usually are declared at around 1:30 pm in the day time, where as they have noticed that results were on right from the morning via social media channels like Whatsapp, etc. He said election commission has assured them that required action will be taken to make sure that everything was fair and fine.
