Heritage plaza at Golden Temple Amritsar

Heritage Plaza at shri Harminder Sahib (Golden Temple) , Amritsar will be inaugurated by chief minister of Punjab, sardar Prakash Singh Badal. This plaza has been developed on the way to shri Harminder Sahib for the beautification and give it a heritage look.

Devotees visiting golden temple can now feel the difference, earlier it was narrow streets with very old buildings , and that too in very bad shape , almost on the verge of collapsing, but now it is wider and beautiful street with special tiles and lighting arrangements during night time.

For the time way from old town hall building to Golden temple has been taken care of of, but later almost all the streets leading to shri Harminder Sahib will be given new look in the same way this has been given as per the deputy chief minister S. Sukhbir singh Badal.

Almost 250 crores have been spent on this Heritage Plaza so far, out of which 170 crores alone were spent on beautification and maintenance of the old buildings leading the way to the Temple.
All the buildings on the way have been given same look , so that the whole project should look as a one project.

A special gate has also been erected near Amritsar Jalandhar by pass, which has been named as ‘Gateway of Amritsar’. Tourists and devotees will have the feeling of way to Golden Template while passing from this huge gate with big golden dome. Deputy chief minister Sukhbir singh Badal had a walk on heritage way to introduce the whole project to the press reporters. He also visited the entry gate , called ‘Gateway of Amritsar’.

Chief minister Prakash Singh Badal declared Heritage Plaza as a Diwali gift for the people of Punjab.
