Post office looted at Tarntaran in daylight

Post office was looted at TarnTaran in daylight. Two suspected looters came to the post office at around 4pm in the evening and took away cash collected in the day time. As per the latest information they took away around 5.31 lacs of Indian currency notes which are not in use now.

Robbers were carrying weapons with them, they entered from the back door of the post office and opened fire without any warning, which hit furniture. On hearing the fire the whole staff present at the post office was terrorized. Suspected looters ordered the staff to hand over cash to them without showing any cleverness, to which staff simply handed over the cash collected in the day time.

On of the staff member Sandeep Kumar , who is sub post master told that one of them was wearing outfit of Nihang singh and other one was wearing head gear but seems to be non sikh. Police is investigating and moving towards all the possibilities.

After the demonetization of the Indian currency , there have been many side effects, and this is one of them. Demonetization had both positive and negative effects. Many Controversies and Problems surfaced after demonetization. There has been huge flow of cash in banks and post offices, as people are changing old currency notes of 500 and 1000 with new currency notes of 100 and newly launched 2000 denomination note.

This is not a solo case of crime after demonetization, police is regularly catching unaccounted money at various check posts put up by the different state police. On the same time there have been other cases of loots being reported from the other parts of the country too.
